I-95 Improvements within Great Pee Dee River Floodplains
Project Description
SCDOT is conducting a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study for the SC I-95 Corridor over the Great Pee Dee River. The study corridor spans an approximately 8‐mile section from mile marker 172 to mile marker 180. This corridor is integral to the state's freight network and is nationally significant as a freight and tourism corridor. The study area includes two bridges over the Great Pee Dee River and ten overflow bridges within the Great Pee Dee floodplain.
The purpose and need is to address structural and functional deficiencies of the bridges along the I-95 corridor between mile markers 172 and 180.
Project Status
We are in the Design Phase of the project development process, conducting a Planning & Environment Linkages study.
Project schedule is subject to change. As of March 2026.
